And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.Acts 17:10‭-‬11 KJV

One of the way anyone can enjoy his life as a Christian is to have open mind towards the gospel of Christ, you need to be open-minded. This is key to a life of extraordinary success, not just in your Christian life, but in life generally, it would help you a great deal in career, ministry, finances, relationships, and other areas.

Why is open-mindedness so important? It’s important because it would make you a student of the word of God, make you willing to learn more, learn new things, and unlearn habits that you know won’t help you go far.

Many Christians today still have religious mindset and are not willing to forgo that religious mindset and their religious beliefs for the truth of the gospel; their minds have been so closed to the extent that, they fight and threaten anyone who tries to teach them anything that’s different from the belief they hold in their mind.

Paul and his company had been to different cities preaching the gospel, and in most of the places, they experienced great opposition from the Jews to the gospel. The Jews were supposed to be the first people to receive the gospel because the law and the prophets all talked about Christ, but because religion had so blinded their hearts, they never saw the truth from the scriptures, and for this reason they kept opposing the gospel of Christ, persecuting the Christians and were even killing the Christians.

When Paul and his group came to Berea, they found out that the Jews in Berea were better and more disposed than those in Thessalonica because they listened to the gospel, and when they heard, because they were open-minded, they began to search the scriptures, and found out that what Paul and his group told them about Christ was true.

Many Christians today have closed mind towards the gospel, their religious mind had built a strong hold in their mind that keeps opposing truths that could liberate them and turn their lives around. These people are never willing to learn something new from the word of God, they have stuck to what they’ve been taught decades ago, following the same method they were taught many decades ago even though the methods are not really working today, living their lives based on what someone else told them many years back without searching the scriptures to know how true the things they were taught are.

Open your mind to the truth of the gospel, let it change and transform your mind and your thinking and make you think, not religious thought, but God’s thought that could make you who God says you are. Always remember this, truth is progressive, and having open mind towards the truth will help and cause you to make progress in life, while having close mind would make you to be stagnated in life, so, be open-minded.

Confession
The word of God is in my heart, I think the word, talk the word, and act the word of God, and it is changing me, transforming my life and destiny. Hallelujah!
