TOPIC: THE HAND OF THE LORD – THE HAND OF JUDGEMENT(PART 2)
Scripture: 1 Samuel 5: 6. But the hand of the LORD was heavy upon them of Ashdod, and he destroyed them, and smote them with emerods, even Ashdod and the coasts thereof.
Beloved, in continuation of yesterday’s message, the Hand of the Lord is likened to a two edged sword! It has favour on one side and judgement on another side depending on what you want. This is why Samuel warned the people of God:
1 Samuel 12: 15. But if ye will not obey the voice of the LORD, but rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall the hand of the LORD be against you, as it was against your fathers.
So the Hand of the Lord could be in favour or against a person depending on his/her cooperation with God per time.
Beloved, the God we serve is a God of love and at the same time the God of vengeance. It is through the vengeance dimension of God that the enemy will submit themselves:
Psalm 66: 3. Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.
Vengeance compels the enemies to submit themselves to our God. There are enemies of your destiny that have vowed to mess up your destiny, but when vengeance shows up, they will all bow!
Beloved, the Hand of God is the Hand of judgement. And one of the ways God shows up with vengeance is by deployment of His Hand. The following are examples of the Hand of the Lord in judgement:
- The judgement of the gods of Egypt:
Exodus 9: 3. Behold, the hand of the LORD is upon thy cattle which is in the field, upon the horses, upon the asses, upon the camels, upon the oxen, and upon the sheep: there shall be a very grievous murrain.
This hand of the Lord was recognized by the magicians of Egypt and they called it the Finger of God (Exo.8:19)! It dismantled the foundation of the powers of Egypt. It humbled Pharaoh such that he had no choice than to say, ‘go and serve your God as you have proposed'(Exo.12:31-32). In this season, every Pharaoh of your life that has refused to let you go shall see the Hand of the Lord in judgement.
- The judgement on the land of Philistines(1Sam.7:13):
A. On the people of Ashdod;
1 Samuel 5: 6. But the hand of the LORD was heavy upon them of Ashdod, and he destroyed them, and smote them with emerods, even Ashdod and the coasts thereof.
B. On the people of Gath;
1 Samuel 5: 9. And it was so, that, after they had carried it about, the hand of the LORD was against the city with a very great destruction: and he smote the men of the city, both small and great, and they had emerods in their secret parts.
The Philistines are the adversary of the people of God, they came and took the ark of God and the Hand of the Lord came mightily upon them. Today, every power that has taken what belongs to you shall see your God in action as the Hand of the Lord shall be against them.
How does the Hand of the Lord provoke judgement?
It is provoked by calling on the God of vengeance:
Psalm 94: 1. O LORD God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself.
Wherever you have been oppressed and denied your rights and privileges, it is time to call upon God that said:
Romans 12: 19. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord .
Remember this; Heaven is real and hell is real! Jesus is the only way to escape eternal judgement, give your life to Him today.
- Father thank you for your word to me today.
- Lord, let your hand of judgement come upon every troubler of my life in the name of Jesus.
I declare the judgement of God upon every Pharaoh of your life and destiny in the name of Jesus.
-Every power that has taken what is yours return them now in the name of Jesus.
