TOPIC: THE RESULTS OF THE HAND OF THE LORD
Scripture; Genesis 39: 21. But the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison.

Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter! God with a man is the same as the Hand of the Lord upon a man. Today, we shall briefly consider the results of the Hand of the Lord upon a man.

Our anchor scripture reveals that when God is with a man, His Hand is also upon that man like He was with Joseph everywhere he went. The following are the results to expect:

  1. Mercy(Gen.39;21); Mercy is deserved judgement cancelled. Joseph was a prisoner that was jailed without trial for attempted rape. Now as a prisoner, the maltreatment that was meant for inmates was cancelled because mercy was extended to him.

Beloved, I don’t know where you are currently, you may have been accused and labeled with a name that is not your name. Your husband might be threatening to throw you out because you are being accused of infidelity. I have good news for you, the God of mercy will vindicate you.

Perhaps, your case is in your place of work there was a conspiracy and they lied against you just to demote you, since then your heart has been heavy, please stop disturbing yourself because God has seen the evil conspiracy that is going on, He will certainly vindicate you. Your case may be that your business associates ganged up against you and decided to drag your name in the mud and now they have thrown you out. I want you to believe God with me that the mercy of God will open every closed door against you. To everyone of you who is facing rejection and character assassination, on the wings of mercy, God will fix you up.

Another way of defining mercy is error overlooked. That implies that in that prison even though Joseph may have committed error, but as a result of the mercy he enjoyed, his error was being overlooked. This is exactly what God meant when He was making a covenant with David;
2 Samuel 7: 14. I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men: 15. But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.

Please observe the clause, “If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men.” That’s to say I will overlook their errors and only discipline them. The same mercy that was withdrawn from the house of Saul was now given to David as a covenant (2Sam.7:15).

Beloved, are you disturbed about your past life? You might have even concluded that God cannot forgive you your sins any more. Well, that will be a lie of the devil because there is no sin God cannot forgive because of the atoning work of Jesus on the cross. Today, the door of mercy is open wide for you to come in! Come to Jesus and receive pardon for your sin. Every error of your past will be wiped out and will no longer be remembered;
Isaiah 43: 25. I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

Beloved, by the Hand of mercy, your errors are forgiven. So stop disturbing yourself about your past. It is time to move out of depression and the thought of past mistakes that has imprisoned your life. If you have given your heart to Jesus let no devil deceive you that God is still keeping records of your past. Rather say to yourself, ‘I have obtained mercy, so it is time to move on with my life’.

  1. The second result of the Hand of the Lord is grace.

Remember this: Heaven is real and hell is real! Jesus is the only door of escape. Give Jesus a space today.
Prayer points:

  • Father thank you for your word to me today.
