Whenever I see a believer publicly criticizing or dishonoring another believer, especially a Father/Mother of faith or spiritual leader, especially on an issue of doctrine and not on an issue of eternal gravity or clear cut sin, it breaks my heart.
Such public dishonor/criticism/emotional outbursts do not make your audience do the right thing, infact, if anything, you have only succeeded in showing them your weakness and the weakness of their spiritual leaders.
James 1:20 says we should be slow to speak, because the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.
Nobody is perfect, so why focus on their imperfections when you can celebrate their strengths?
Anytime I am tempted to publicly criticise, I ask myself, is there anything good about this person? If my answer is yes, I ask myself, then why have you never publicly celebrated his strengths? And why are you so quick to publicly criticise his weaknesses?
And then I end up celebrating them, instead of criticizing them!
Remember, you will reap what you sow. If you sow criticism into the life of others, you will reap a bigger harvest of criticism in due season!
You will never attract what you attack, but you will always replicate what you celebrate.
God Bless You !
